Ruutu back to Pittsburgh?

Pierre Lebrun is reporting on a ton of rumors, many of them are the same as what HTR has published, but a new rumor that is mentioned is that the Penguins may be looking to awing a deal with the Senators for Jarkku Ruutu, who left the Penguins last season to sign with the Senators.

In the case of the Penguins it is reported that “This is a team that lost lots of sandpaper last summer when Ruutu, Ryan Malone and Georges Laraque all flew the coop.”

    While I would not mind to get Ruutu back I do not think that your trade offer will work.

    Reason why?

    I think the Pens are to close to the cap. I think they would actually have to give someone up. Not just draft picks.

    I could be wrong about this but as far as I understand it they do not have the cap room.
