Sabres to trade Afinogenov + Sean Avery Update
Buffalo Sports News is reporting that the Sabres are looking for a taker for Afinogenov who continues to be a healthy scratch.
It is reported that Afinogenov “figures if he isn’t going to play for the Sabres, he may as well play for someone else” and that “if they’re not using me, it’s probably no point for me to be here.”
It is also noted that in order for the Sabres to fit Afinogenov back into their roster they will have to make a move as they are “at their 23 man limit” without him.
While Afinogenov hopes to be traded it is reported that last summer the Sabres tried to deal him but were unable to find a taker.

In other NHL news it is heavily reported that the Dallas Stars will place Sean Avery on re entry waivers tomorrow. It is likely that the Rangers will pick him up and take another chance on him due to his past success in the big apple.
