Salary Cap and your team
I have read many articles and seen many proposals on a salary cap. But I ask you, if you had 30 or 40 Mil to spend what would your team look like?Avalanche.
One of the harder teams to do by the by.
30 Million Dollar Cap –
David Aebischer – $450,000 US
Brett Clark – $450,000 US
Greg De Vries – $1,375,000 US
Chris Drury – $2,500,000 US
Adam Foote – $4,200,000 US
Riku Hahl – $415,000 US
Milan Hejduk – $2,700,000 US
Dan Hinote – $600,000 US
Brad Larsen – $423,500 US
Eric Messier – $700,000 US
Bryan Muir – $500,000 US
Vaclav Nedorost – $975,000 US
Scott Parker – $574,750 US
Steve Reinprecht – $475,000 US
Phillipe Sauve – $450,000 US (EST)
Joe Sakic – $9,832,727 US
Martin Skoula – $975,000 US
Radim Vrbata – $400,000 US
Stephen Yelle – $1,200,000 US
Total – $29,195,977
Lines.
Nedorost-Sakic-Hejduk
Reinprecht-Drury-Vrbata
Larsen-Yelle-Messier
Hinote-Hahl-Parker
Defense.
Foote-Skoula
De Vries-Muir
Clark-Messier (shifted back to D)
Goaltending.
Aebischer
Sauve
Odd Men Out-
Rob Blake, Peter Forsberg *tear drop falls from his eye*, Mike Keane, Patrick Roy
Reasoning- Blake is more expandable because of his salary. Forsberg is worth every penny of his salary but as is Sakic. Came to one or the other and Sakic is the Captain for a reason. Keane is nearing hte end of his carear. Roy age there as well.

Odd Men Out.
Rob Blake, Mike Keane, Scott Parker, Patrick Roy
Reasoning – Blake is good ofensively but for half the money Foote is the better pickup. Keane is 35 and really not that great a PK player or a scorer, Parker does little but fight, Roy is 36…Hard to say goodbye, but gotta draw the line somewhere.
Well let’s see how many can budget well.
