Schneider, Beauchemin dead Ducks?

Schneider, Beauchemin dead Ducks?

From sportsnet.ca

It’s really only a question of when as the Anaheim Ducks have to make a trade to free up some room under the salary cap when they reactivate Scott Niedermayer from the suspended list.

It’s believed Mathieu Schneider, Francois Beauchemin and Sean O’Donnell are drawing the most interest around the league, although Ducks GM Brian Burke refused to discuss any possible trade scenarios, writes the L.A. Time.

Moving Schneider would be the best case as it would remove the $5.5 million owed to him this season and $5.75 million next year. It would not only allow room to activate Niedermayer, it would free up cap room to sign Corey Perry, who will be a restricted free agent, and possibly clear the path should Teemu Selanne also decide to come out of retirement.
