Its pretty front loaded. It works out on average to 4.2 mil a year. Thats a tad bit high but not completely insane. Id say, on average, Fisher is worth about 3.5 a year.

Besides, with some of the salaries out there, are you really surprised?

no thanks to schneider, he's too old. I would much rather have given that cash to meszaros.

Regardless, I don't think he's getting bought out and if he comes up on re-entry waivers, we're still not going to get him.. The other teams before us would pick him up at half his salary.

Schneider won't be bought out. I believe that buy outs need to be done before August 1st (or something around there) plus players signed to multi year contracts over 35 years of age are paid 100% of salary instead of 50%over 2 years, which I believe would still put them over the cap.

I really doubt Murray would sign him, Ottawa already has a solid top 4, and they need space on their bottom 2 for guys like Lee, Picard and Scubert to develop and play all season. NOt to mention Bredan Bell is solid and hungry to play in Ottawa. Noit sure if Scheider is ready to go through a wall or block a shot with his groin like these guys are to get their shot at full time NHL duty and the $$ that comes with it.

Schneider 5 years ago is a different story, i just don't think he has it in him to play on the Sens team. Not they way they are building the team now, the mean, tough, scrappy team they want. Schneider is just not that type of player. The Sens are a close knit group and are playing for each other, bringing in an aging veteran who is injury prone and probably won't do any better then Lee and Picard could in the bottom d-pairing is just silly.

I say he signs in Atlanta for 2 million.

On the other hand, if he's bought out, you don't need re-entry waivers, so I guess it could happen if Schneider agrees to a huge paycut.
