Senators Update + Speculation

Sportsnet.ca is reporting that Senators Defenseman Filip Kuba has reversed his stance with regard to waiving his no trade clause. It is now speculated that if the soon to be unrestricted free agent can not agree to a new deal by tomorrow than he will be willing to waive his no movement clause in order to be moved to a different team.

The article also indicates that forward Jason Spezza is not going to be going anywhere at this trade deadline and that the likely player who the Senators will try to move is Chris Neil who will try a final time to reach a new deal with the Sens.

The Van trade makes no sense they already have 8 or 9 defensemen.

  3. muckies says:

I'm cheering for Van to make some noise in the playoffs. The Shannon for Nicolate trade has worked out so well for Ottawa I think. Shannon is  a legit top 9 forward and he could be a mini Marc Recchi for the Sens.

Can somebody tell me if Kuba is a physical defensman??

He's a big fella, but is he though??
