Go Leafs!

We may live in a geographical location where hockey has never been that popular and there are relatively less supporters, but our passion for the game is the same as anyone. That may be tough to believe, I know. I’m guessing at least part of your assumption comes from that fact about geography. It’s tough for those who have lived all their lives in the northern US or Canada to know what it is like here in the south (and that goes both ways as I don’t know exactly what it is like to live up north).

But I was raised by my family that grew up in northern Minnesota, so I do have a fair idea what it’s like and what this sport means to those up north. I have the benefit of the southern perspective of hockey, as well as a good idea of the northern perspective. I’ve found out that the passion for the game and for your team doesn’t have a damn thing to do with where you live. Trust me, there are a great deal of Thrasher fans here who want nothing more than to win and are not willing to settle for anything else. Compared to other hockey town, our fan base is smaller and our fans a bit quieter. But we want a winner as bad as everyone else.
