And no Montreal is not signing him.

  2. wayne2 says:

I said it before and I'll say it again the sens should sign him.It would also give them one more forward to make it easier to trade for a defensemen.
Sign Shanahan then trade Mike Fisher and Brian Lee to Florida for Jay Bouwmeester:

lol sounds something that typical sens would do, screw focusing on goaltending just add more fire power!

  4. Kramer says:

Do they play hockey on the ice planet Hoth?

Obviously Im a tad bit biased here but since the article mentions the Penguins, I dont feel as though Im a rabid fanboy making silly claims.

If the Pens could work out something to get Shanny, especially at the price of $1M, I think it would be a really good move.

They lost some veteran leadership with Roberts and Recchi so I think adding Shanny to help the youngins along is a good move. Not to mention he is a tough SOB who can pot a few goals here and there. I figure he is still good for 25 goals or so and the Pens could use another solid 2nd-ary scorer.

If they can get him, I say good on them.

lol ya who needs good goaltending…just bring in the rookie goalie in the ahl.

  7. wayne2 says:

For the record nobody wants to give up a real solid goalie, and no Khabibulin is not worth his salary. The only goalies worth making an offer for that could be available are either Harding in Minesota or maybe Roloson(still a gamble though) in Edmonton.

Except he wont agree to go to Ottawa OR Florida. He wants to stay close to NY so he doesnt have to move his family again.

  9. repetitivnegativ says:

Actually, Shanahan lives outside of Boston.

  10. repetitivnegativ says:

Shanny's also the type of player that never gives up on a play, and will win a fight for anyone, unlike Hal Gill. No solid North American veterans on the Pens, unless you call Gonchar or Satan North American. The Pens (J-Staal) did show off to the world that they are capable of comeback. Best game I've watched live on Versus in years.

Oh. I thought I had read new york.

    Oops. My bad.

  13. hockey_lover says:

It certainly was a great game. Much akin to the Rangers collapse last year against the Habs. That was also pretty epic.

  14. CrosbyMalkin says:

I agree, I am not a huge fan of Shanny but he is tough and can still score around 20-25 goals a year. If they can get him for a good price I say good on the Pens.

  15. I-BE-LEAF says:

Yup… but they use frozen Tauntaun terds instead of pucks.

  16. repetitivnegativ says:

That's ok. It was speculated that Boston was eying him down using that as bait, but they look like they don't need to make room for him on the already well balanced line-up.
