The Sharks will be buying out lukewarm winger Martin Havlat after this season. They likely would have done so this summer, but he had hip surgery and you can’t buy out injured players. Havlat was a healthy scratch Friday against the Oilers.

– This rumour won’t die: The St. Louis Blues, with not a lot of money to play around with on the salary cap (at $63.9 million, which is 12th overall) will still make the biggest play for Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller at the trade deadline. Coach Ken Hitchcock and GM Doug Armstrong saw lots of Miller on Team USA at the 2010 Olympics as part of Canada’s management. If so, what happens to Jaroslav Halak
