Slegr ended up playing most of the year with Atlanta and in 38 games there had 3 goals, 5 assists and was a -21!! Now that sucks.
Everything is relative.]]>
Sure, I think Slegr is being greedy and over-estimating his own NHL value, but why would you compare him to Peter Forsberg? No one in the hockey world thinks Forsberg is “bad because of greed.” For God’s sake, he returned his salary (what was it, $11 million?) to the Avalanche because he couldn’t play for a year. Tell me of other players who would do that. You can’t because there are none. Other players would want to have a nurse wipe their ass while they lie in a hospital bed, making more money than people like you or me could ever hope to see.
Forsberg is a rarity – a superstar player who is worth every penny he gets, but won’t take any money when he can’t earn it.]]>
