Something Cooking On Thanksgiving, Kasparaitis and Prucha could Go

The Rangers trade to get Isbister???? Something is up my friends… kasparaitis and Peter Prucha are right smack in the middle of the trade rumors in New York. The Chicago Blackhawks are rumored to be big players in trade talks for Prucha, as sources have said Chicago is scouting the Ranger Games very hard and Very closely.

The Real Question is: What is going on with kasparaitis? Where has he been, and does Renny’s comments of Kasper not being “ready to play”… have any truth to them?
Here we go people. First and foremost sorry I have not been around… Working very hard for MLB.com and I never have any time off.

Second of All Happy Thanksgiving, everyone enjoy the day.

Now for the hockey stuff…
Rumor has it Prucha For Seabrook deals are being talked up very much around New York, as the biggest Rumor has it that Chicago’s GM has been watching the Ranger games and very interested in getting some young forwards in his lineup.

The Rangers Signing Isbister means something is up. Isbister would fill a roster spot either in the AHL or on the 4th line… But it doesn’t make much sense for a 4th line spot since the Rangers have tones of young forwards waiting to play.

Isbisiter is going to be part of a deal or be a backup in the AHL in case they need to bring him up.

Seabrook is going to be a very very good Defense-men which is simple to see. Staal and Seabrook on a 1st line pair in the Rangers Future sounds really good to me. BUT is it enough to loss Prucha? Sure he hasn’t done much this year but he hasn’t had as much ice time as he did last year.

Kasperitus on the other hand…. I DO NOT Believe that he is not in shape enough to play. Something Bigger is the problem here. Something off the Ice is going on if you ask me… I can definitly find someone on the Rangers team to sit and get Kasper in over them.

I don’t want to start any bad rumors, but I wonder if Kasper is having personal problems with something… I hope nothing illegal… but who knows? Maybe some problems with people in the locker room? But something is up and I don’t believe it’s his conditioning anymore.

The bad thing is… Is that Kasper played a very big role for the Rangers last year and was considered a candidate for the ‘C’….. Kasper Played the music in the locker room all the time after every game and kept his teammates loose, played very solid last year… everything we wanted in a player.

Now he has dissapeared? Somthing is up people. Either he is going to be traded very soon or something behind the smoke and mirrors is up.

We have to believe something is going to happen Seabrook is on the trade block and I’m sure the Rangers love the look of their future with him on the blueline. If Kasper and Prucha go, you have to think the Rangers are going to get something back in return with Seabrook so they have someone to play with Shanahan. But Keep Your Eyes open… cause somthing big could happen very soon.

Whats going to happen??? I don’t know…. hopefully we will find out soon.

Very interseting speculation.  I feel Isbister is being used in the trade along with Kasper and Prucha for Seabrook and probably some other prospect it would probably open up about 2.5 mill in cap space to go with the 4.7 they already have.  I say they'll use that space to find a free agent to fill the space on the O left nehind from Prucha, possibly Allison or Bondra.

With Dawes sent back to Hartford, I believe Isbister is the 23rd man on the roster. But I agree something will be done, and I believe that it will be closer to Xmas or whenever Jed is on his way out. The reason Isbister is acquired now is to get him practicing and seeing if he is clicking with anyone on this team.

As far as Darius, there is like a cold war going on with him and management. he is #8 on the depth chart at the defense position, and they are waiting at least a month to move him so the team he is traded to only takes like a 2.5M hit.

I don't believe anything will happen within the week, but certainly something is a brewin.

I will tell you guys this. Darius won't go to Chitown, BUT EDMONTON. Slats Western Conference trading partner, and former home. Look for only a marginal choice/prospect or conditional pick. You will see this go down, and probably get upset that there is all this hype for a blockbuster, but not so. The loss to Pronger was huge, and Darius Kasparitis is a guy everyone around the league knows, and Edmonton could use him especially for another playoff run.

I did expect Slats to get a forward, but I thought he was going to look to Long Island to take York who the Isles did want to move. I realize they are rivals, but Im shocked neither team took the initiative, and now Yorks value has slightly gained.

Yeah, and not to mention spelling words *properly*, moron. Stick to the hockey rumors and leave the English class to the schools.

Seabrook is not going to be traded.  Here is the link for the online chat that Dave Tallon recently had with fans:

    http://www.chicagoblackhawks.com/fans/chat.asp?chat_topics_id=40

Trading Seabrook has never made much sense in my mind, from the Hawks' standpoint, even for Prucha.  It just won't happen.  You don't trade a potential franchise defenseman in order to make your team better.  Making moves like that, is how you end up handicapping your club.

I don't expect Prucha to be dealt either.  I think that all of this speculation has been made up by the media, considering how thoroughly Tallon shot down the Seabrook rumor.  I don't read much into the Isbister acquisition.  With Ortmeyer trying to come back, I think that Isbister is a warm body to have in Hartford, and for an emergency callup.

All that said, someone on the Rangers defense is going to have to be dealt.  At this point, I think it will be Kasparaitis, although it should be Malik, in my opinion.  Malik has picked it up lately, so hopefully he will keep it up.  Prucha being traded?  No way.

Canucks need a 2nd line RW or maybe even 1st liner and think Pruca would be a nice fit in Vancouver playing with the Sedins. If Canucks wanted to make a blockbuster and couldnt get the Forsberg deal done I wonder if Nonnis and the Rangers managment would pull a deal off.I can see Bourdon going to the Rangers for some of there younger talent.

    To Rangers-Bourdon,2nd round pick,and( M.Couinard)<To Canucks-Pruca,Dawes,and Pock
I think it would be a possible trade the Rangers get another blue chip prospect in Bourdon and the Canucks get some scoring help in Pruca and couple decent young players in Dawes and Pock.

I think Ken Holland is fed up with Datsyuk's demands and will ship him off to the Rangers for a package focused around Prucha.

  8. physicalsap says:

    Kaspar to the Pens….

haha just wishful thinking I know but with everyone talking about the Penguins defensive woes and Mark Eaton being out for a while with the wrist injury, this would be awesome

  9. mojo19 says:

they could have had him, he was put on waivers a couple weeks ago.

  10. papichulo71 says:

I think the Pens as well as a few other teams probably want the Rangers to recall him so they can pick him off on re-entry.

I think if Sather let's Prucha go he's foolish. I really hope that the Rangers don't revert to their old ways of when someone starts playing well, let's trade them. Granted Prucha hasn't performed like last year as of late, but he's a SECOND year player..and he's good. He has heart.

  13. mojo19 says:

you're right trading Prucha would be a mistake unless he gets another young guy back. For instance, if there is a deal in place with Chicago and Prucha is involved, they should get a guy like Ruutu back.

  14. wingerxxx says:

Agreed.  I think that a lot of this speculation has been "suggested" by the media.  I think a lot of people smelled something fishy when it was suggested that the Hawks would actually trade Seabrook.  It just makes no sense.  The Rangers have too many defensemen as it is.

  15. JoeyNYR says:

Prucha is not going anywhere. The Defense has stepped it up a bit, just not offensively. It is not worth a top foward for a top defensemen. I think the Rangers fowards are pretty much set. and PRUCHA WILL NOT BE TRADED unless there is a blockbuster move. I don't see that coming though. And Datsyuk will not come to NY…or will he he come to center Shanny and Prucha on second line? I don't know. Cullen is playing very well and so is Betts. I don't make any moves unless its BIG.

the rangers got to trade ozo, for practically nothing, to a team that needs offensive help.  Hes generated no offense for us this year, hes practically on the ice for every goal, HE ALWAYS LETS FORWARDS GET BEHIND HIM and oppurtunities are created.  He terrible and hes cost us games this year, hes had two horrendous turnovers… i hate ozo…. at least kaspar will play physical, provide leadership.    Who knows maybe they've been shopping ozo by letting him play to make room for kaspar, kaspar did have two surgeries int he offseason i just don't understand why they want to trade such a key player……   as for prucha they cna't trade him his numbers are down from last year yes but he is playing a different role, what they need is a better 2nd line center, Cullen is a third line center ,Cullen is playing with prucha and shanny and has generated nothing.

Just heard of a possible Pens and Rangers deal

    Penguins get Kasper, Hall
    Rangers get LeClair, Melichar.

This clears up some cap space for NYR, the only thing is, does LeClair have a no-trade clause? I thought he did, but I guess not.

  20. trueblue says:

    Hi everyone,

It's interesting to hear all the speculation and possible trades.

I DON'T believe Chicago will trade Seabrook NOR the Rangers trade Prucha.
I think the Rangers would love to have Seabrook, but I don't believe they want to part with him to make their team better. They may be interested in Prucha, but lets face it they are not going to steal him. Also keep in mind Chicago just signed Bondra.

As for the Vancouver speculation—NO WAY!
I'm sure Vancouver would love Prucha, but when does anyone trade a proven young player for a blue chip speculation. Prucha in only his second year is playing much less and on 3rd and 4th lines with little power play time as well. If someone on the 1st or 2nd line gets hurt guess who's playing time is going to greatly increase and probably his stats as well. As for Immonen and Dawes included in the deal–NO WAY! They have proven themselves at the highest level below NHL level and are themselves blue chip prospects. This trade makes no sense for the Rangers.

The Rangers have recently brought Immonen up and he has played pretty well thus far at 2nd line center.

What the Rangers need is improvement on the D ASAP!
I agree with whoever it was who commented that Ozolinsh should be dealt.
I'd be estatic if they got the 3rd round pick back they used to get him.
Kaspar is playing well right now and they need someone like him in the line-up. He should NOT be traded. I'm upset that they have not given Pock a real try. I believe he would turn into a really good player. Malik was playing bad, but that was when he wasn't eating cause he was sucking soup for several weeks when he had his teeth nocked out! His play since his been of old. Roszival's play was subpar during Malik's bad stretch and has risen since Malik's health has improved—coincidence huh! Rachuneck play is inconsistant and I'd look to deal him as wellas Ozolinsh.

I'd love to see the Rangers trade for Ed Jovanovski from Phoenix.
They could of had him for nothing— he was a free agent. I believe he has a no-trade clause that would have to be waived. Phoenix stinks this year and could use some good young talent—just not Prucha.

I'd like to see a three way deal actually, that would involve Ozolinsh somewhere for a 3rd or 4th round pick. Send that pick, Adam Hall, Karel Rachunek and if necessary either another pick, 3rd or 4th line player, or Isbister for Jovo.

He is an impact player and the Rangers would solidify their D and make a cup run with him. They may have to give a little more than what I would like to get him though.

I'd love to hear others thought on getting Jovo!

Anyway, soon we will see what they do….it's just a matter of time!
