Souray to be a SHARK?

Alright I’ll make this short. Any habs fan obviously knows the situation with our defence at the end of the season. Souray, Markov, Rivet and Ninimaa all without contracts. As for Ninnimaa no one cares, Markov is said to be the most important of the four to sign to a new contract, rivet is mentioned in numerous rumors and as much as everyone wants to keep souray he is probably the most likely to leave. mentioned on their site that the San Jose Sharks seemed to be the most interested in souray and the offer mentioned is actually pretty reasonable. It goes like this:

Sheldon Souray for Matt Carl, Joe Pavelski + a draft pick.

The kings were the other team interested in souray.

WHy the hell would SJ give there best two prospect AND a draft pick for a rental player like Souray when they could get him for nothing this summer, whats wrong with you ppl! -.-

Souray worths like a 1st pick and MAYBE a mid-level prospect

But w/e keep dreaming 😛 SOuray for Marleau WOOT WOOT …

    SJ DOESN'T NEED offense.
    They already have plenty!

Their defense needs DEFENSE, not offensive!
Souray would only be useful on the Power Plays… why giving up our best goal scorer + pointer?

Souray is by far the best leader on the team. He should wear the C, but it would be a slap in the face of Koivu to rip it off his shirt for a simple "A".

    Leave Souray alone, he'll stay!!
    It's the Habs' PRECCCIIIOOOUUUSSS!!!!!!!!!!

Souray has carried the club on his shoulders for a bit, being the only consistent offensive threat all season, but time after time, he shows what a liability he is on defense and takes WAY too many penaltiesT. Was it last game, agains Washington, that Semin simply went AROUND Souray and scored? I mean, come on.

Our leading scorer is also one of the worse on +/-, mainly because most of his points are on the PP. Might be worthwhile to trade Souray for something. I REALLY hope we dont sign him to a 4.5+M dollar deal at the end of the seaons. He's never scored more than 15 goals in a season. What's he going to do next year? I'll take a responsible d-man any day of the weak over a D-Man who plays week in his own end.

Oh, and by the way, out of the top 8 teams in the west, the Sharks are 5th for goals scored. 5th out of 8 teams isn't great. They might be interested in a little more offense.

I don't get why the kings would want to make a run for Souray when they're not going to be making the playoffs. The guys a UFA, and will apparently has stated that while he likes montreal (and he's said many times he would like to stay in Montreal), he wants to test the Free Agent market. For a team like the kings, it makes no sense for them to be trying to pick him up now.

For a playoff bound team, it makes a LOT of sense to try and pick up a guy like Souray. He'll add some punch to a power play as well as some physical play.

If Nagy can fetch a first round and a player, I don't see why Souray would go for much less.

Ok bob if sheldon wants to sign with the team then don't trade him but if he is planning to test the market this summer or wants to move closer to his daughter than trade him.  there is no use keeping him if were not gonna have him for next season.  When is the next time the organization is gonna have an oppurtunity to cash in on prospects and draft picks like souray can bring?  I'm just want to know if he wants to stay or if he wants to go
