Speculation from the Calgary Herald

The Calgary Herald is reporting that as many as 15 teams have lined up to try to get their hands on San Jose’s Patrick Marleau.

Besides discussing Patrick Marleau it is mentioned that the possibility exists that the Sharks are open and willing to listen about inquiries regarding any player on their team, including Joe Thornton. Although HTR does not believe that the Sharks would be willing to part ways with Thornton it is heavily speculated that they may part with Marleau and that the Montreal Canadiens would love to get their hands on him.

Other players who are mentioned as part of this article that are possibilities to be moved in clued Jaromir Jagr. It is well known that if Jagr does not reach a specific number of points this season he will become an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of the season. Although HTR believes that it is highly unlikely that the Rangers would move Jagr as they could use his goalscoring in the post season anything can happen. It is possible that the Rangers will try to deal him rather than loose him to free agency in the off season.
