Speculation from the New York Post

Larry Brooks of the New York Post is reporting that the Rangers have the assets to make a big move if desired.

Some of the names that Brooks suggests could become available and really should be put in the what if category include Mats Sundin as a playoff rental (he is not going anywhere), Lecavailler, Hossa, Sergei Fedorov or possibly even Rob Blake (if he is willing to waive his no trade clause).

HTR believes that while many of those big names are pretty set with their present team things are likely to happen as the trade deadline approaches. For example, if Atlanta can not resign Hossa to an extension then it is unlikely that they will hang on to him and risk loosing him for nothing next season. In any regard, it will be interesting to see what transpires over the next few months.
