Speculation on Stamkos mounts: Leafs, Pens involved

As negotiations between Tampa Bay and all-star center Steven Stamkos continues, there is mounting speculation of a possible three-way trade between the Lightning, Maple Leafs and Penguins. As reported in the St. Petersburg Times and Sporting News, there are rampant Twitter rumors, albeit unfounded, that the Lighting would get All-Star center Evgeni Malkin, the Leafs would get Stamkos, and the Penguins would receive prospects Tyler Bozak and Nazem Kadri, 2011 pick Stuart Percy and other considerations.

Meanwhile talks between Stamkos and Tampa Bay continue. General manager Steve Yzerman said it’s “a work in progress”.

What does everyone think?

Is this plausible, or false hope?

Gilmour for Leeman? Or an attempt at time travel?
