Stars listening to offers for 'almost everybody over the age of 27'

A three-game winning streak — which has given the Stars a firm grip on a playoff spot for the first time since the early weeks of the season — may not be enough to prevent management from becoming big sellers by Monday’s trade deadline.

According to a tweet by SportsNet’s John Shannon, the Stars are “listening to everything about almost everybody over the age of 27.”

That group would include a number of high-profile players already heavily linked to other clubs, including centers Steve Ott and Mike Ribeiro as well as team captain Brenden Morrow.

The Stars are currently locked in a three-way tie with Los Angeles and Colorado for the 8th and final playoff seed in the Western Conference. And while ending a three-year postseason drought could inject some energy into the fanbase, having to face a team like Vancouver or Detroit in the first round of the playoffs would be an extremely tough draw for a Stars squad short on top-end talent.
