Stephen Weiss and Maxime Talbot Available?

Panthers Move Stephen Weiss?

On the surface this makes little sense considering he just had wrist surgery, but there’s talk it’s possible he could recover in time to play this season.

Just keep this in mind….

Weiss, a pending UFA, will not return to play a handful of games without an extension signed sealed and delivered. Word is he’s looking for $5 million year and he’s not going to risk suffering a setback without a new contract.

Could the Panthers move him and receive a conditional pick depending on how much he plays this season? Sure, but again it’s highly unlikely unless the new team put a new deal on the table.

Maxime Talbot…

The Flyers are willing to part with Max Talbot and a number of teams are apparently kicking tires here. Several sources suggest St. Louis is one of them.

Talbot is a proven playoff performer who can play center or wing. When acquiring a player like this you don’t wonder if he can fill a role because he’s already done it.

He has three years left on his deal after this year with his salary going down each season. Talbot brings a $1.750 cap hit.
