summer deals for leafs?

A couple of weeks ago the leafs had fired Quinn as the head coach. Now Ferguson decided that the leafs wanted Maurice to be the coach and now he is. This was the right move and I think Paul Maurice would be a great coach. Now the leafs had been struggling with injury problems and players being retards and losing.

Ferguson has to get rid of these players:

Berg-who is already gone in the finish elite league

Belak-hes a goof and alwayz fights

domi-too old, but a good fighter

maybe antropov- hes not that bad

khavanov-injury problems and sluggish

belfore-? cant say

Players Ferguson needs to sign or trade in the off season:

sign Elias to a- 3 year(4 million per year)

sign leopold to a 2 year(1.5 million per year

trade allison and a 2nd or 3rd round pick to detroit for my favorite datsyuk

Mccabe to a- 4 year(5 million per year)

-now if they have any money left than ferguson can get some 1 or trade.

Why are so many people hot on smasonov, he’s a inconsitant floater, if he’s a good fit, why not talk Renberg into coming back, then Robert Reichel and Aki Berg?

  2. Scottman75 says:

No way should you trade Pogge. I will admit that Rask is further along in development, but Pogge will be a bigger star for sure. Secondly, you build a team from the net out.

The rest of the article is interesting.

To play for T.O. (local boy)

I do agree with your sediment though. 😉

  4. the_word says:

For as ugly as he was he got 65 points, ok half of those probably againt Alanta and he took way too many bad penalties, but he wasn’t useless. When he walks you still need those 65 points back.

I was reading this article over again and thought it was it so bad and unrealistic that JFJ may actually be the author.

  6. Aetherial says:

As long as they get guys that can skate 🙂

Seriously, these trade ideas are a joke. The whole article is a joke. I figure there will be about 10 teams going after Elias and I could easily see 6 million+ … wth his performance this year, and the increased cap, I could see a team paying him 7 million+

… which is why I don’t see him on the Leafs. They don’t need another 7 million dollar player. They need guys to play and fill holes while the young core develops. THEN, when they might have a shot at truly being a contender, they can try to go out and get the missing pieces.

  7. Aetherial says:

Yes … and fighting has proven to be the key to winning in the playoffs right?

Oh no, wait, that was the 1970’s! nevermind.

  8. the_word says:

They don’t need Elias at seven million, but he’d be a better addition then Chara for that price.

  9. BLUE_AND_WHITE says:

WHAT? who would they trade Datzyuk for? MAYBE for Ovechkin, but the Caps wont go for that.

  10. DJTOKid says:

I would think with the ice time and oppertunity the youth of the leafs could replace those 65pts. If stajan, wellwood, ponikarovsky, and steen all get 16 more pts next year yah got your 65.

  11. DJTOKid says:

DO NOT TRADE POGGE!!!! The leafs have to wait it out with both pogge and rask until they are both near peaking to being all-stars, pick the best one and get good trade value for the other.

  12. the_word says:

If you can get a lot for Pogge and/or Rask, trade’m in a heartbeat, young goaltenders are the most unpredictable resource in any organization. Top prospects often go bust, who is to say Justin Pogge isn’t the next Jamie Storr?

  13. BLUE_AND_WHITE says:

yes, his one hit year was last year. He’s very inconsistent. he’s a creative player,i’ll give him that, but he can’t hit, or skate that well

  14. scout says:

    Elias for 4 mil per?

Allison for Datsyuk? Allison’s a freeagent

    are you 4?

chara p[layed all playoffs with a broken hand
