Tambellini, Schaefer, Desbiens on bubble

The imminent return of winger Alex Burrows (left) means all the Canuck forwards who lack job security may have only one more game — Monday’s against the New Jersey Devils — to prove to coach Alain Vigneault they deserve to stay in the NHL.

After missing the start of the season due to June shoulder surgery, Burrows continues to practise with the team and, barring setbacks, should come off the long-term-injured list for Tuesday’s game in Edmonton. His return, even if Burrows doesn’t immediately start on the first line with old mates Daniel and Henrik Sedin, will affect the entire lineup. Jeff Tambellini appears to be getting better, but Peter Schaefer may be getting worse. Guillaume Desbiens really hasn’t done much all season, although Vigneault likes him a lot.
