The Lightnings biggest strength, bigger than the big 3 forwards, bigger than the solid supporting players and being the defending champs, is playing in the Southeast division. With the new division rivalries scheduling format (which I think is crap BTW) the Lightning get to play Carolina, Washington, Florida and Atlanta 8 times each. Carolina and Washington are, arguably, the 2 worst teams in the league. Florida is improving, but still not a legit playoff team. Atlanta could be better, but if Kovalchuck doesn't come back then they are worse ... much worse.

So basically a guaranteed 1-3 seed with home ice and probably should be a 1 playing teams that bad, that often.

I'm not sold on their goaltending. If it wasn't for Habby's play in the playoffs last year they would not have won the cup, not a chance. There were too many 1 goal games where he stood on his head. Burke can't play like that and I don't think Grahame is very consistent. That will be their achilles heel. I think they should go grab another goalie. I'm sure they could work out a deal to pick up Biron, or even take a chance on signing Potvin or Tugnutt, two guys who have the ability to steal games. I predict Burke to go down with injuries and Grahame to buckle under the pressures of a starting job.
