Team Canada, Not a surprise

How surprising is this though? I know lots of you like to blame McCabe. I will admit he has not been particularly good. We could blame injuries to Jovanovski and Niedermayer…
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what is REALLY wrong and why…
They can’t score.
2-0 to the Swiss ?!?! 2-0 to the Fins ?!?! 2 more scoreless periods against the Czechs.
Why?
Simply… consider that you want 3 scoring forward lines, and one checking line
Well Canada is playing FOUR of their top 9 point leaders this year.
Let’s say you want FOUR lines that can ALL score, (my preference actually) Well Canada is playing 4 of their top 12 point leaders this year.
You could argue that Nash’ *would* be one of the top 9 or 12…. so I will give Canada 5/9 or 5/12 of their top points leaders out there.
With the exception of injuries, NO OTHER team has taken that tack.
Quit blaming McCabe or the injuries. They simply did not send the best players they could have, period… and they had a world of problems scoring goals.
Do the math. This is NOT a big surprise. It is time for a changing of the guard again on our International team.
