Second – Hedberg has had playoff sucsess before, and is a good second option/insurance should Cloutier struggle.

But you prove my point yourself, Burke is a Cloutier supporter and won’t be looking for another goalie, he did that when he got Hedberg.

Point number 2, Goaltending alone won’t win the playoffs, the nucks blew against minnie, and were lucky to get game 7, they had the lead in game 7 and then pounded the pooch the rest of the way. Yeah Cloutier sucked, but he sucked just as hard as the rest of the team. They need secondary scoring.

I agree with you that the CBA is a big mystery and no one really knows how the talks will work out.

They have two, and a excellent backup in the minors. Vancouver needs scoring. I expect them to enquire about Mr. O’Neil, the only thing that concerns me is that they will be less willing to part with players than some other teams (Toronto, Detroit). Why T.O. is looking for forwards is beyond me as well.

REPEAT: Vancouver is not in a goalie hunt, take a look at the numbers for nucks goailes you will see.

According to a reliable source who works security for the Oilers… Fedorov after the loss to the Oilers, had his head down and didn’t look like he wanted to be there. He also told me that Fedorov and Semenov were together after the game talking and wispering… and it looked like there was some bitching and complaing on Fedorov’s part. (Of course no-one knows exactly what was said… but with Fed’s attitude and reaction with the team… one can only guess).

T.O. will probably keep him on the farm team for 3-4 years because he has a little bit of talent. ha

Im predicting the leafs will pick up wesley for dirt cheap on the deadline but Gonchar would also be good, they should try to pick them both up.

Since Fedorov has a clause in his contract that says he can be a UFA again if the Ducks don’t make the playoffs….

Suppose on March 9, the Ducks are out. Fedorov tells management he is going to excercise that clause.

Do you think that Sergei Fedorov could change teams again? I certainly think that the Rangers would have definate interest, and probably would be the only team who could afford him.

Just speculation.
