First off Cloutier has improved each and every year, playoffs and in the regular season. Second - Hedberg has had playoff sucsess before, and is a good second option/insurance should Cloutier struggle.

But you prove my point yourself, Burke is a Cloutier supporter and won't be looking for another goalie, he did that when he got Hedberg.

Point number 2, Goaltending alone won't win the playoffs, the nucks blew against minnie, and were lucky to get game 7, they had the lead in game 7 and then pounded the pooch the rest of the way. Yeah Cloutier sucked, but he sucked just as hard as the rest of the team. They need secondary scoring.

I agree with you that the CBA is a big mystery and no one really knows how the talks will work out.

Burke and fans can say all you want about Cloutier but for him to choke one more time will be the end of Vancouvers hopes. If there is a lock out Naslund will go back to Sweden and your team will be very different post CBA. Cloutier is not a playoff goalie. I and all Vancouver fans have to admit that that is your weakness. The inconsistent play in the playoffs of Cloutier

Vancouver does not need a goalie. They have two, and a excellent backup in the minors. Vancouver needs scoring. I expect them to enquire about Mr. O'Neil, the only thing that concerns me is that they will be less willing to part with players than some other teams (Toronto, Detroit). Why T.O. is looking for forwards is beyond me as well.

REPEAT: Vancouver is not in a goalie hunt, take a look at the numbers for nucks goailes you will see.

"If" Fedorov were to leave, then he would want to go to a team that is a playoff contender. He hates loves the fact he is the go-to guy with the Ducks but hates the teams situation.

According to a reliable source who works security for the Oilers... Fedorov after the loss to the Oilers, had his head down and didn't look like he wanted to be there. He also told me that Fedorov and Semenov were together after the game talking and wispering... and it looked like there was some bitching and complaing on Fedorov's part. (Of course no-one knows exactly what was said... but with Fed's attitude and reaction with the team... one can only guess).

Good article. Oniell would be good in the blue and white and it looks like he's getting his game back with 5 goals in the last 4 games i believe, well something like that but anyways toronto still needs a dman i agree that those guys you mentioned(Jackman, Antropov and Berg) have a good chance of being dealt but i don't think hedin will go. T.O. will probably keep him on the farm team for 3-4 years because he has a little bit of talent. ha

Im predicting the leafs will pick up wesley for dirt cheap on the deadline but Gonchar would also be good, they should try to pick them both up.

McCabe-Wesley

Gonchar-Klee

Marchment-Kaberle

Then maybe, just maybe the leafs could beat the flyers or at least lose with out letting in 8 goals. Oh and for all the leaf fans that will get annoyed at that last sentence, Shut Up im a leaf fan myself.

Great Article! I liked what you said. I totaly agree with you in the point that there is a war going on between the GMs, and that a move can trigger alot of other moves! So put you seat belts on, this going to be a wild ride!!

Well, I was thinking....

Since Fedorov has a clause in his contract that says he can be a UFA again if the Ducks don't make the playoffs....

Suppose on March 9, the Ducks are out. Fedorov tells management he is going to excercise that clause.

Do you think that Sergei Fedorov could change teams again? I certainly think that the Rangers would have definate interest, and probably would be the only team who could afford him.

Just speculation.
