The Latest Sundin News
The Mats Sundin saga continues to draw on like a tooth ache. Everyone knows that he will return but where and when continues to be the question. The star.com speculates that Sundin mulls a mid December return and indicates that he has been training daily.
Apparently there are as many as 11 teams that are interested in his services and it is noted that one of the most serious of the interested teams is the Canucks who still have the 2 year 20 million dollar contract offer in place. It is also mentioned that the Rangers, Leafs and Canadiens have serious interest in Sundin.

*yawn*
I also heard that Forsberg is planning a career as a long distance runner.
I saw a photo of Brian Burke on Sportsnet. He doesn't look too happy.
Sundin can't help the Leafs anymore cuz he's dog tired from endless release of sexual energy in the past year since he met this new Swedish chick.
Breaking news!! Nobody cares!!! Not until NEW news comes up about Sundin…
lol ya know .. when I read that "NEW news" part, all I could think of was Steve Carrell in Bruce Almighty.
"NEWWWWWWWWWWWS. NEWWWWWWS. NEWS."
*ahem* Sorry. Im better now.
The question is, should the Leafs try to bring Sundin back?
Better yet, what purpose would his return serve, given that the Leafs are in a rebuilding mode?
The Leafs are badly in need of a franchise forward….or quality young forwards at the very least. The most practical way to acquire that would be to finish lower in the standings.
In my view, getting Sundin would be counter-productive to the team's rebuilding.
He probably just found out that he got hired by the Leafs
I want to continue to see Grabovsky in that #1 centre role and on the #1 PP-unit. He deserves the minutes needed to contend for the Calder.
Mats is a 6'5'' 230 pounder with 1300+ career points and a gift for winning faceoffs. Anybody who doesn't want him on their hockey team has no idea what they are talking about.

He didnt decline being traded last year for no reason.
He'll be back with the leafs. He's not playing right now for a couple of reasons.
1) He's old and wants some rest.
2) The leafs are rebuilding and if they are close to making the playoffs he'll sign. Its a new team with a lot of players that need the ice time to mesh and step up. He was likely asked to not play till december because of the rebuilding so the leafs could get a shot at tavares but its clear they wont be bottom of the barrel so its another playoff push.
How great would a sign and trade be? Sundin could win back my respect, not that I'd expect him to care.
Apparently Gainey met with Sundin, my only concern is who would have to be let go to make room for Sundin if he signed with the habs, the usual suspects are Boullion, Dandeneault, and Brisebos, but none of these guys free up a center spot for him.
