right... the toughest division... laughable.

I thought they Atlantic was Tops but NE has proven to be much better.

There's no NW teams in the Conference Finals THIS year.

The East had lower points because it was so competitive that,aside from Philly and Washginton in the second half, there were no teams to beat up on, as opposed to Phoenix, LA, Columbus, Edmonton, Chicago and St. Louis.

Three teams? Is this the best they can do? At the very least, it should be five or six teams. The third team will undoubtedly be a host team, which will make for an interesting tournament when England is the host. It would also make for an interesting situation when Russia gets to host the tournament, and their decision to reject the NHL/IIHF transfer deal again. Does the NHL send a last place team? Do they send a team at all? Does the NHL team send any of their key veteran players? Do they keep extra seats on the plane for Russians who want to leave?

But seriously. These are European players, who, for the most part, couldn't make the worst teams in the NHL. That's why they're not here. They'll be part of a tournament against the best team in the world, the Stanley Cup champions.

If it takes place in September, it will do nothing but hurt the NHL. The teams will have no time for training camp. And if they start Training Camp early, there will be no time for off-season surgeries.

I wouldn't garuntee that. I think some of the Europian teams play pretty good team game. Not to mention I think they said it will take place in september and how much motivation are they going to have.

well we all know colorado is the best out of those 3 considering they would of made the 6th seed in the eastern conference w/ 96 points in the toughest division in the league

We should have it that the top 3 teams that did not make the playoffs shall represent the NHL. Example, Toronto, Montreal and Colorado would represent this year.
Hey who knows...maybe Toronto will actually win something...

Prediction...

Whoever wins the Stanley Cup 10 - 0 Some Shit European Team.

It sucks that Smyth has won every international competition (World Cup, World Juniors, Olympics, World Championships), but not a Stanley Cup. He'll get his soon.

Also, Joe Sakic (Canada) and Scott Niedermayer (Canada) are the only players to have won all five of the Stanley Cup, the World Cup, the World Championships, the World Junior Championships, and the Olympic Gold Medal.
