Tic… Toc… Tic… Talk – Monday Updates

Here’s some of the latest deadline chatterings:

FAN 590 – Doug MacLean stated the Leafs and Columbus may be talking of a bigger deal including Nik Antropov+ (names Dominic Moore, Anton Strahlman & a draft pick as options) for Pascal LeClaire. LeClaire has now been linked to both Ontario teams as they each try and find a long term solution in goal.

Brian Burke has shot down rumors that the Boston Bruins offered Joe Colbourne, a 1st round pick & a 3rd round pick for Tomas Kaberle.

Bill Guerin Update – Guerin’s still awaiting a trade. As CBC initially felt, Washington continues to remain the likely scenario. The Capitals have the cap pace to add Guerin, but apparently not the roster space. Each team is allowed to have 50 contracted players. Most teams remain a player or two under allowing for trades to bring in players. The Caps, sitting at 50, cannot bring in a body without moving a body. We’ll see if something comes of this or if Guerin ends up getting moved elsewhere.

Olli Jokinen‘s name continues to be linked to Calgary, Montreal & Minnesota. Matthew Lombardi & Chris Higgins continue to hear their names. Possible they’re swapped for each other or used in a Jokined deal?

Flyers & Red Wings appear to have interest in Kari Lehtonen. Ottawa fan, you interested?

Blackhawks & Devils looking at Sami Pahlsson.

Matthew Sekeres of the Globe and Mail speculates of a Ryan Smyth to Vancouver deal. Smyth’s no-movement clause suggests otherwise, but Smtty may listen if the deal includes a return to Canada.
