I have had my doubts myself, but I have heard some recent rumors that they are looking for a high-tier centerman to pair up with Ovechkin. It would be the sensible thing to do in order to improve their team a bit, therefore it would make sense.

i still have high doubts the caps will go after a huge name top 10 free agent. They have to sign ovechkin to an extension soon!! and i think he will demand close to the leauge max!
