I mean sure it was an accident, but it was just plain terrible, and definitely a lowlight. When else has a fan been killed at a sporting event besides soccer riots?

Well for one, that wasn’t really a hockey incident. It was a Crowd incident. It wasn’t on-ice, which is what they were referring to.

Secondly, what do you mean, “where else have fans died at games” or events??? Fans have died at Michigan International Speedway, Lowe’s Motor Speedway, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Fans have died at baseball, football, and basketball games throughout history. Fans have been killed or nearly been killed while rushing the court of field in the past several years…

This is why I honestly feel safer at a hockey game than I do anywhere else. People don’t go to a hockey game to get drunk and start fights (generally) — people do that at basketball and football games though. And hell will freeze over before you see a fight between gangs erupt at a hockey game like has happened at football and basketball games in the past.

Yes, it was an unfortunate accident, and tragic, what happened to her. It’s also why arenas for YEARS have reminded you to “Please keep your eyes on the puck”…

I thought the Rocket one would of been number one on the list, I’ve heard lots of people talk about that story. I’ve heard about the Shore and Bailey incident too. I remember hearing that they shook hands the next year, when Shore apologized to him at the all-star game. Reading these reminded me of watching that Legends Of Hockey Show.
