Top 10 most pleasent surprises to start the season.

I have been so pleasantly surprised by different players, that i was compelled to make a list.10. Defenseman Derian Hatcher Philadelphia Flyers
Wow, defensive liability to defensive asset in one year. he’s not taking penalties, and isn’t slowing his team down.

9. Goaltender Martin Biron Philadelphia Flyers
I admit, I expected him to flop in Philly, but a chance to be a starter again has turned him into a fine starter. Has won a few games on his own.

8. Forward Eric Belanger Minnesota Wild
I always saw him as a filler player who had no real strengths, who could pot 15 a year. But in Minnesota, hes turning into a great defenive asset who can put up big points.

7. Forward Patrik Kane Chicago Blackhawks
I thought he’d play another year in Junior for sure, but he’s here, and he’s putting up points.

6. Forward Mike Cammaleri Los Angelas Kings
To all hab fans who though LA would trade this guy to you for pieces you didnt want…..now you know why they didn’t. Cammaleri is scoring like crazy, hes the centerpiece of a very powerful LA Kings offense.

6. Forward Paul Statsny Colorado Avalanche
Can you believe I one thought he was about equal to Steen. When Sakis decides to hang up the skates, the Avalanche will be in good hands.

5. Defenseman Chris Campoli New York Islanders
I thought he’d break out last year. He didn’t. He has now, and could possibly become a top pairing guy this season.

4. Forwards Daymond Lankow Calgary Flames
He’s playing with Iginla, but he’s still scoring like crasy. Leads the NHL in goals.

3. Defenseman Brett Burns Minnesota Wild
We all knew he could play defense, but did anyone else know he could light it up too? He went from nobody, to decent prospect last year, to top pairing defenseman this year. I can only imagine what he’ll be like next year.

2. Forward Robert Lang Chicago Blackhawks
He has an open net, and he passes the puck to Ruutu…that is a very pleasant surprise from a guy once considered to be very selfish. It impressed me a lot.

1. Forward Henrik Zetterberg Detroit Red Wings
After an injury plagued off year last year, he has come out on fire. He leads the NHL in points. Hes one of the nicest guys in the NHL, and a treat to watch.

Thats my top 10. forgive me if i forgot some (which i most surely did) but I have not seen every team play this year.
