I'd love to see Marek svatos in a habs uniform.I love to watch him play
injuries are a factor right now but when healthy this guy rocks. I dont think the avs would get rid of him.

Jay bouwmeester would be a good pick up but will be asking for the moon come negotiating time.

I beleive mostly everybody will be signed with current teams.

  2. Frank181 says:

Trade Kubina and Mccabe, Sign Liles and Smith Sign sundin for a discount. Then sign naslund.

  3. azzkikr2100 says:

    mr. funny man!

  4. Habs_pm says:

Corey Perry will no doubt get an offer sheet from another team. He is probably the only RFA worth going after.

I predict there will be plenty of trades right before the draft….Especially with Toronto.

  5. Kyleton says:

Then we end up exactly where we were this year. With vets that will underperform and we miss the playoffs by 1 to 4 points. No thanks.  Liles I would take cause he can turn it around. Naslund is a no go… And I would prefer to not sign Sundin again just to spark change.  Nothing against him but there are others that will agree to go if he is gone.

  6. tancred says:

I could also see guys like Carter, Svatos, Wolski, and Erat getting offer sheets.  As you said, Perry most definitely.  Of course, with a GM like Lowe around, anything goes; he'd probably make an offer sheet to far lesser talents than those mentioned above.

  7. CofRED says:

I noticed Craig Conroy missing off the list of potential UFAs.  Who else got missed??

  8. rcichard03 says:

Carcillo will get offered to an offer sheet … hes so good its incredible, have you even seen him play, he plays with so much grit.

  9. ovechkin8 says:

I really hope the oilers do some offseason work again this summer.
Guys i would love to see in an oilers uniform are:
    Shea Weber-7 yr/38.5
    Marek Svatos-6 yr/27   COULD YOU IMAGINE svatos-carter-hemsky!!!
    Jeff Carter-6 yr/30
    Jose Theodore-2 yr/3
    Joni Pitkanen-5 yr/22.5
    Tom Gilbert-4 yr/5.2
Robert Nilsson-4 yr/8    If Ethan Moreau's injury was career ending
    Zach Stortini-3yr/2.1
    Curtis Glencross-3yr/3.6
    Staios in summer
Roloson and Torres at the draft
    Jarret Stoll
    Marty Reasoner
    Marc Pouliot

    TEAM=50.9/53 to 55 million

1st 2nd 3rd round pick 2009 from Stoll in RFA
1st round pick from Torres and Roli at 2008 draft
Whatever you could get from Staios

  10. Frank181 says:

Well for sure trade Mccabe and Kubina. Liles is a good signing. We have to sign sundin back for else if he goes.. we get nothing for him? Thats ridiculous. Well.. we do get 5 million in cap space.

  11. habsrock99 says:

I don't believe your plan can work. I'm pretty sure you can only sign one guy at a time to an Offer Sheet and if you get him you can't sign any other RFA's to an offer sheet. And I'm also pretty sure the compensation for an RFA lost depends on the amount of money his new contract averages.

IE. any RFA signed for over 4 million a year, the compensation is a 1st, 2nd and 3rd, any RFA signed for between 2-3 million you get a 2nd and 3rd and anything less then 2 million you get a 3rd. I'm not 100% on any of this but I believe this is how it works. I could be wrong.

  12. Radio says:

Unrelated, but I gotta say: More shitty refereeing tonight.

I despise the Leafs but they were totally robbed on both goals vs Jersey.

  13. habsrock99 says:

I saw the GWG by Jersey and the puck was in fact loose. At first I didn't think so then they showed a zoomed in view from Center Ice and the puck came loose and Parise just knocked it in.

If you want an injustice, the Kings were robbed of a goal against the Habs today. On the PP I think Handzus scored a goal but it was waived off because Kyle Calder apparently "unintentionally interfered" with Jaroslav Halak but the replay clearly showed Calder made no such contact and was not in the crease and the Kings were robbed of a 1-0 lead.

  14. turdfergusson says:

Nice work. I see Pitkanen running back to the east though. As far as i'm concerned he can bugger off. Amazing skater but injury prone …

  15. ryrad8 says:

Sergei Samsonovwill be re-signed by carolina, he's doing pretty good since his been there

  16. Vinnypleasecomehome1 says:

    Svatos, Smatos. NO MORE EUROPEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. ThomasHawks says:

Mark Streit is gonna get around 2.5M to 3M per year.

He play on defence and he can play on the wing.

He has 17G-38A-50Pts in 70 games.

Hes 15th in the league with 29 power play point.

I hope that the Captain of team Switzerland is gonna stay in Montreal.

  18. careyprice31 says:

stay focused on ryan malonen and brian rolston

  19. BruMagnus says:

You're not getting Malone! Unless it was part of a trade like:

    S. Kostitsyn
    A. Kostitsyn

  20. doh23 says:

you forgot to bold Wade Belak

  21. mtlman2005 says:

that has to be the most retarded trade i've ever heard….
The 2 best players in that deal are Price and Plekanec… And the Kostitsyn brothers are going to explode in the next few seasons…
