The preds should be better than the wings, but not because of Arnott. don't forget they aquired Dumont, and they have a strong youthful core. Plus Radulov should help a lot.

TSN has listed the details of this contract now.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CP) - The Nashville Predators shored up their long-term goaltending needs Monday, signing star starter Tomas Vokoun to a $22.8-million, four-year extension through the 2010-11 season.

The 30-year-old Czech native will earn $2.28 million this season before the new deal pays him $5.3 million in 2007-08, $5.5 million in 2008-09, $5.7 million in 2009-10 and $6.3 million in 2010-11.

Dallas Stars goalie Marty Turco signed for the same $22.8 million over four years last January, which pays $5.7 million a season, putting Turco and Vokoun second in salary among NHL goalies behind the $6.75 million earned annually by Chicago's Nikolai Khabibulin and Vancouver's Roberto Luongo.

Vokoun ranks third among NHL goaltenders in games played (203) and wins (95) over the past three NHL seasons. He was fourth in balloting for the Vezina Trophy last season after tying for fifth in the league with a .919 save percentage and ranking sixth with a career-high 36 wins.

He received complete clearance to return to action this summer following treatment for a blood condition that sidelined him through the final month of the 2005-06 regular season and the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The only remaining Predator from the 1998 NHL expansion draft, Vokoun has gone 134-147-42 with a 2.57 goals-against average in 340 career NHL games. He played in the 2004 NHL all-star game and has also represented the Czech Republic in a number of international competitions, such as the 2006 Winter Olympics, the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and three IIHF world championships. He helped lead the Czechs to a gold medal at the 2005 world tournament, winning the Best Goaltender Award and earning a spot on the tournament all-star team.
