Could Montreal finally get the big shakeup it needs? I mean soon they need to clear out all the bad contracts and start a new. I mean if they continue down this path you would think something big will happen. I mean they talked a lot about us when we had our bad starts maybe its time for Montreal to tare down what they have and try to recoup their loses. Just my opinion.

Would be cool if they did but the Canucks only have $86,960 in cap space left (according to capgeek). Which means the Canucks would have to move some salary around and then send the offer sheet. I can't see them risking it especially when Phoenix would likely just match the offer anyway. I kind of hope Vancouver gets Turris though, I really don't like Phoenix.

Different situation between Booth and Weiss I think. I could be wrong but I'm not sure Booth gelled entirely well with the coach.

I'd take Weiss over Connolly. Connolly is the more talented I think but he's injured entirely to often.

And yeah, he has to play haha. I'd like to see what he can do with Kessel still.

I was on the same page re: Connolly but now he's starting to look worse than Peca's tenure as a Leaf. Wish we had gone for Weiss. If the panthers gave up Booth for so little we could'a got Weiss for something reasonable….and at a mill less. I think he's a point 'a game right now and plays the PK as well. Connolly has to actually play to provide competition right? I know….that was out of line.,,,just wish we had gone for Weiss when it was possible.

Hockeybreak says the canucks are trying to reacquire their 3rd round pick so they can send an offer sheet.

This is why Burke grabbed Connolly. It's a stop-gap while Colborne (or Kadri although its looking almost guaranteed that he's going to be a top 6 LW) develops his game in the AHL. Things are looking good so far on that end.

Took 6 years with 3 GM's but it's finally well on its way.

Don't look now but Joe Colborne has 10 points in 5 games and a +5 rating.

I think he could be our first-line center we've been looking for next year...Best part, he's 6 foot 5, 210 pounds and starting to use his body a lot more.

Maybe that's why Burke did not pull the trigger. Another great prospect along with Gardiner and Kadri.

Took 6 years, but this franchise might be on the right path.
