Weight out for six weeks.

The New York Post is reporting that the New York Islanders have lost veteran Doug Weight for six weeks. Put differently HTR feels that not only did the Islanders loose Weight for six weeks but they will also lose out on part of his trade value.

HTR believes that with less than a month to go before the trade deadline it is not likely that Weight will be back in action again this season with the Islanders because of the likelihood that he will be traded. Because this is a knee injury and Weight will be out of action for at least 2 weeks past the trade deadline it is unlikely that any team will pay full value for his worth.

What do you think an inured Doug Weight’s value is? Is he worth picks or prospects?

If he goes on the IR doesn't that mean he can't be traded?
