Secondly, WHen a guy signs a contract, they usually do take the bigger number (ie. 1,000,000) as the figure, so it really is a 7 figure deal, it doesn’t matter how many years the deal is for.

Case in point, when a guy like Shaq or good old AROD signs a deal. They go by how big the money pot is, say 250,000,000 over 10 years, sure it works out to be 25 million a season, but they don’t say it’s a 8 figure deal, DO THEY?? No, they say it’s a 9 figure deal over 10 years.
