Mike Richards on waivers. Likely will be heading to Manchester, the AHL affiliate of the Kings until a trade is worked out.

They will be able to save over 900K in cap space with this demotion.

I believe the Voynov incident has really hurt them so much they need to make this move. Any cap space will help them.

Its a big fall for a player who was traded for Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn. But, 2 cup wins, i guess the Kings cannot complain too much. Richards was a part of that success.

Bob MacKenzie said the Flames and Leafs have had contact with LA about Richards. Will be interested to see if the Leafs can work out a trade.

How bad does LA want him gone? What would they take back and give with him to a team willing to take his contract?

Retain some of Clarkson’s contract and exchange the players. Solves leadership issues, the Clarkson issue and gives them a 2 time stanley cup champion who can play anywhere in the lineup.
