Really? The same MacLean who got the expansion Jackets. Then was unable to get them out of the basement for years, until he was ultimately fired? Columbus was bad and never got a little better, never. Until MacLean was replaced I guess.

Although he's not all bad. I dont like the Beauchemin, Wright and 5th rounder for Fedorov, but it wasn't that bad. They wen't .500 the remainder of that season with Fedorov, but still.

And I definitely liked the Denis for Modin trade.

Nope, I meant Milbury. His stellar record at the draft alone makes him a better choice than MacLean, even if Milbury went and stupidly traded most of his best draft picks away anyways.

I don't think people should be so quick to dismiss Mike Milbury. Yes, he's an idiot, there's no denying that. But hear me out. If Milbury can learn from his past mistakes, he could actually get the job done. Think about it: Here's a guy who has no problem cleaning house and starting over. He has a phenominal draft record (yes, he foolishly traded a lot of those guys away, but he drafted them none-the-less). Truthfully, given the reigns for 3 or 4 drafts, with some decent scouting, he could really build some depth in an organization that has been lacking it for years. All that he needs to understand is that he can't go trading away these prospects because they weren't ready to play as 18 year olds. If he's matured at all in that way, he could do a better job than a lot of people would expect.

Or he could find a way to make things worse. Who knows.

Maclean has a stanley cup finals apperance on his resume, and also has built this Columbus team that is now competeing. If you want to start comparing bad deals with JFJ, I am sorry but you will lose
