A Pile of Speculation … Some Big Names May be on the Move
The New York Times provides some speculation on Trade Deadline morning. While they suggest that Bill Guerin is one of the names will be traded “we already knew that one,” they also suggest that players such as Ryan Smith, Olli Jokinen, Adrian Aucoin and even Jose Theodore may be on the go.
It will be very interesting to see what happens in Edmonton. If the Oilers are not able to come to an agreement on a new contract with Smith it may be the best option for the Oilers to move their long term sniper to ensure that they don’t loose him in the summer for free.
Jose Theodore is an interesting suggestion. The Avalanche would love to move this guy who sucks up a ton of their salary cap and has not performed well this year. If he is moved look for it to be a salary sump. It is more likely that teams would be interested in the Hawks Khabibulin who has won a Stanley Cup.
