This could play out very interestingly for the Kings. I wouldn’t want to move either young player either though. And yes to those of you who don’t think so I am think the Kings would have to add to Richards if the rumored Phaneuf/Richards deal heats up again.
They would easily have to add to get anything. If anyone wanted Richards they would have claimed him. Unless LA wants to include their 1st for an expensive 3rd line player they won’t be able to move Richards without including Pearson or Toffoli (if not both or one AND a first).
Would be nice to see the Leafs tackle a new blueline, Kessel for OEL or with Nashville for Jones, and trade up at the draft for Hanifin. Slay one dragon a season.
I think OEL would a good long term fit/leader Leafs emerging Swedish prospects.
Yeah I’m a big fan of OEL, can’t see why Arizona would want to trade him or anyone for a Kessel player right now. They’re also entering rebuild, no need to spend 8 million a year to move up a few spots in the standings.
Really loving Rielly’s game lately, showing how he can control the game. The thing that is overlooked about Rielly is how strong he is. I can see him being a 25+ minute defenseman pretty soon. Would love to pry Jones out of Nashville.
It would definitely more of an off season deal.
Though I wouldn’t do it though, players like Kessel in this league are extremely rare and are never available. If Arizona wants him then they have to over pay.
Arizona is going to suck for a long time, Kessel is a draw while they do, they’re hard up to sell tickets.
OEL is more of a smart mark hockey fan’s player, not really a draw.
