LADD NOW THE NAME?
Now that Steven Stamkos is no longer in play heading into the Feb. 29 trade deadline, does Andrew Ladd become the biggest name who possibly might be moved?
Reports suggest Ladd’s camp may have turned down a six-year, $36-million deal from the Winnipeg Jets at the start of the season. As a pending unrestricted free agent, would he get that – or even more – on the open market, perhaps a comparable pact to the seven-year, US$42.5 million pact inked by the Ducks’ Ryan Kesler during the summer of 2014?
Over the weekend, Ladd told TSN radio in Winnipeg that his situation is taking its toll on he and his family, including his pregnant wife.
