NHL Trade Rumours: East teams bid for Kesler

On Thursday, the injured Vancouver Canucks centre denied reports that he asked to be traded, but teams are definitely interested in acquiring the 29-year-old Michigan native. Namely, the Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers, according to Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos.

Kesler has a full no-trade clause and is signed through the 2015-16 season. It is believed he would prefer to play for a U.S. playoff contender, and you must rule out Vancouver GM Mike Gillis trading him to clubs in the Western Conference (Phoenix, L.A.) that are hunting for forwards.
