Cammalleri to T.O?

I’ve been visiting quite a few sites lately and Cammallari to Toronto seems to picking up some momentum.
I think it depends on the award his arbitrator gives him but should he come to Toronto I belive the deal could look somewhat like this:
To LA:
Steen, Stajan

TO Toronto:

what do you guys think?

I think we should give up a Raycroft and a couple of draft picks. And i always liked Cammallari style of play and always thought he was like a palffy that was very under rated on his skills and play. Any one else have an idea on this topic?????

  2. BLUE_AND_WHITE says:

its all fine, except the kings wont trade their franchise player. its a load of crap.

  3. leafsrule12345 says:

Blue is right – no way L.A. gives up their top scorer from last year; especially for Stajan, Steen and Raycroft. I would love to see him come to Toronto, but this just is not going to happen…ditto for the likes of Marleau, Hejduk, Svatos, ummm, who else is rumored? We are going into the season with the team that we have now (maybe a small trade or two in order to have a nice fit up front and on the back end, but nothing blockbuster. While I occasionally enjoy reading the latest Leaf rumor, I am getting a little tired of the (insert blockbuster name here) for the pickings that few teams want to take a chance on (see Stajan, Steen, Raycroft, et al)

I want a big name or an up-and-comer type player to take over from Mats Sundin when his time is up, but with long-term, no movement contracts being handed out left right and centre, it's just not going to happen.

  4. KingCanada says:

Cammalleri isnt their franchise player, this is the first year hes scored big, never had more then 55 points before.  Anze Kopitar is their franchise player, and Jack Johnson might develop into their franchise defenceman

  5. m4gician says:

Okay first of all, Eklund is an idiot.

Second of all, he got his news from an LA news station, i.e. if you were in LA you would be able to see it too.

  6. m4gician says:

By giving up Raycroft, then JFJ has basically lied to us all and done what he did last year. Trying to rely on a backup (a good goalie) but a backup as his number 1, you saw what happend to Raycroft, ran out of steam. Now come on, Eklund is an idiot.

  7. Hoondog2 says:

I like Cammallari, but Raycroft, Steen, and Stajan?  Wow the kid only had one good season, thats just f*cking crazy!!

  8. hockeyballer says:

my first ever ever ever comment or anything on this site. . .

and if we trade raycroft. .  the leafs are as good as done
with an unproven starter and a washed-up back up (cujo) i seriously doubt the leafs would make the playoffs, or go very far in them.

THink about it . cammalleri for raycroft AND steen, stajan … doesn't make much sense to me

  9. KingCanada says:

Despite their need for a goalie i highly doubt they will trade with us, hes one of their better players and would need a really good goalie coming back which Raycroft is not.

Those type of trades (were u trade one of ur best players for a bunch of younger players) are for teams who are in a downward spiral and will need to rebuild, LA is already on the upswing from their rebuilding so it wont happen.

  10. KingCanada says:

I dont agree with the trade but the Leafs are definatly not done if we trade Raycroft thats ridiculous.  We did not bad last season with just one goalie (Raycroft) and mainly failed becose he played TOO much and the string of injuries.  For backups we still have Clemmenson and who knows maybe Justin Pogge is ready to play a few games with the big club.

  11. JuicemaN says:

I think that would be the perfect trade if JFJ wanted to get himself fired and further ruin the future of the franchise.

One good season doesn't merit trading away 3 good youngsters. Regardless Raycroft still has decent value based on potential…sure it's running out but he's still worth enough to only have a decent pick attached to him to get Cammalleri.

Clearly this is why so many times us Leaf fans get made fun of.

Sorry, not trying to put you down but you're letting the excitement of Cammalari get the best of you and are way over-valuing him.

  12. nhl_in_seattle13 says:

even though i would like to see it, it wont happen!

  13. leafspwn says:

stajan, woz, 2nd rounder   nothin more!

  14. 68north says:

im a habs fan and i agree with hockeyballer why take that chance if toskala doesnt pan out id rather have razor as backup than the other 2

  15. next_year says:

anything can happen but the rumor is raycroft steen and a pick, the arb gave cammallari 3.35 mil a year so if this trade goes down i would expect the leafs to resign peca.
Cammallari is NOT a franchise player, hes to young to be a leader he's had one break out season hes a good prospect with a lot of potenialbut we all kno how reasureing potential is dont we leaf fans (antropov, Luke Richardson need i say more)

  16. rodsnick says:

sorry, my bad i meant raycroft, steen/ OR stajan not both

  17. rodsnick says:

soryy man i meant steen OR stajan noy both, thats crazy

  18. Hoondog2 says:

    thats cool

  19. baltic_thunder says:

Cammalleri would be an awesome acquisition. Yes, he's one of the Kings main guys but the arbitrator didn't think that the numbers he put up were that extra ordinary. I would pull the trigger on this deal but it would be for either of Steen or Stajan and Raycroft, not all three.

  20. the_next_agent says:

Why does everyone keep bashing Raycroft, he was amazing in the beginning of the season and he just got tired, a goalie that young should not play 72 games in one season.  He is still a good goalie and give hime a few years, he could easily start for ANY team in the NHL.  He has more value than a lot of people think.  Steen, well we didnt trade him for Pronger or the second overall pick so what makes you think we are gonna trade him in a package for Cammalleri.  Stajan is sadly going, this kid has a bright future and is really good on the PK.  The Leafs will add one of their defencive prospects and some picks to get Cammalleri.  We will then sign Peca and CUJO

  21. slyyo says:

K first off the rumor is for Kubina to go to LA and possibly staja/Raycroft. the rumor has nothing to do with steen

    Check it

check this website at the bottom, this blogger is a very reliable source and is often right about trades

  22. Afroman7 says:

just a question but isnt cammallari and RFA and if the kings dont match what the arbitratior awarded him cant the leafs jsut try and sign him instead of trading away steen and stajan

  23. JuicemaN says:

He's definitely not their franchise player…one good season doesn't make him a franchise player…and that's why so many of you leaf fans are over-valuing him and saying raycroft, steen and stajan for camalleri.

Blue and White…you're better than that; come on!

  24. JuicemaN says:

That's better….I still wouldn't give up that much for him though.

Maybe Raycroft and a 3rd rounder or Raycroft and the contractual right to Jonas Hoglund. LOL

  25. the_word says:

Unload Raycorft's salary (we can't even give this guy away) and trade two checking line wingers for someone who score over 80 points and is locked up for a modest 3.5 a year?  Keep dreaming.

  26. the_word says:

I don't think you can give a player an offer sheet once he has filed for arbitration.

  27. Vern109 says:

I think TO would be giving way to much up……!!! You cannot  give up Stajan and Steen….I would send Raycroft Kronwall, and maybe a prospect
