Florida Panthers after Martin Gerber?

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that the Florida Panthers have been trying to acquire Martin Gerber and his 3.7 million dollar contract from the Ottawa Senators.

Other goalies that the Panthers are said to be interested in include Thomas Vokoun and Chris Mason. Although the article mentions that the Panthers are looking to re-sign Eddie Belfour HTR can’t imagine a scenario where they Bring Belfour back as their starting goalie. While Gerber would make sense for the Panthers one would have to wonder if he is worth his large contract.

    Well they picked up Vokoun. It would have been nice to take Gerber off the Sens hands.
