Gerard Gallant Fired
Head coach Gerard Gallant was fired yesterday by they Columbus Blue Jackets.
Assitant coach Gary Agnew has been given the ‘interm’ job.
Unfortunately this is not a surprise given the fact that the Jackets have not been able to play a consistant string of games at all this year and it does not appear that the players have really been held ‘accountable’ for their inconsistant play.
Various sites are reporting that former Philly headcoach Ken Hitch***** is on a ‘very short list’ as a full time replacement. Personally, I’m not sure how this would work out as the ‘Jackets are a young offensivly loaded team. Hitch***** is widely known as a defensively minded coach which I think would smother the creativity of Nash, Zherdev, Vybony and the others.
