Hurricanes pick up Samsonov
Tsn.ca is reporting that the Carolina Hurricanes have picked up Sergei Samsonov on reentry waivers from the Chicago Black Hawks
Samsonov is set to become unrestricted at the end of the season and could turn out to be a valuable asset for the Hurricanes down the stretch. The Black Hawks are responsible for half of his contract for the balance of the season. Presently Samsonov earns about 3.5 million per year. As the year is about half over, one half of 1.75 million is about nine hundred thousand dollars.
