Jackets Re-Aquire Walser in Minor trade

Columbus Blue Jackets have re-aquired Derrick Walser from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Mark Flood.Walser was originally signed by the Jackets in 2001 and spent most of his time down in Syracuse. He has played 82 NHL games in the NHL for Columbus and has 6G 21A and is a -16 as a Jacket. He has spent the past 2 seasons over in Germany where he had 28G, 38A with a +22.

This is just basically a depth move on McLean’s part as he has been assigned to Syracuse.

On another note, the Columbus Dispatch is reporting that Gerard Gallant is heading back to PEI to ‘clear his heasd’ for the next 10 days or so. With a few of the players spouting off about his coaching style versus the style of Hitch, he has become hurt and bitter.
