Would the Leafs like to find a taker for Kadri?

Marian Gaborik, who sustained a broken collarbone on Dec. 21 in his first match after having been sidelined for 17 games with a sprained knee, is determined to compete for Slovakia in Sochi if health permits, even if the Blue Jackets aren’t exactly thrilled by the prospect.

Another injury would destroy the trade deadline market for the former Ranger, who, as an impending free agent, would be considered one of the prime available rentals up front with the Islanders’ Thomas Vanek, Buffalo’s Matt Moulson, Calgary’s Mike Cammalleri and perhaps the Rangers’ captain Callahan and the Devils’ Jaromir Jagr.

In light of the apparent season-ending injury to Pascal Dupuis, you would have to believe the Penguins will be knee-deep again in that market.

Boy oh boy, would the Maple Leafs love to find a taker for Nazem Kadri.

First off, I hope everybody and their families had a safe and Merry Christmas and same for New Year’s.

I don’t think the Leafs are dying to get rid of Kadri or Gardiner for that matter. Nonis has tried hard to stay young and not quick fix. That being said, no player is untouchable and if Nonis can move a player(s) in a deal that makes sense he will.

Gabborik, still has value and would look great in Pitt.

Everyone needs to relax. He has been the subject of a lot of criticism and a whole lot of the other teams shutdown lines. He is back with Lupul and the production will come.

Also, don’t trade a centre right now, and certainly don’t trade him when his trade value is so low.

I dont think its a good idea to trade kadri, id be open to trading him with a package for a number one center tho. bozak and bolland as 2,3 centers would be very good with a number one. Eklund was reporting leafs and avs are close to a deal.. one could dream for duchene for kadri + right ? Kadri + Gauthier + Percy + 1st.. 2 high prospects a first and kadri? Thats alot, but duchenes the real deal and starting to breakout and is still young. Doubt colorado even thinks about moving him tho.

    • mapleleafsfan says:

Yea I’d ignore anything Eklund says. He’s probably been right once in his career. As nice as Duchene would be, theres 0 chance he gets moved. Whether value is there or not, it makes no sense for the Avs to do it. Only way one of their forwards goes is for an equivalent talent on D (and it wouldn’t be Duchene).

    • That’s about the issue though. Trading him for a #1 is ideal, but what team is looking to downgrade and give away a #1 center, unless he’s an UFA/RFA. Regardless of the package, it’s hard to get that real #1.

Well, Ek was the first to break the news that the Leafs and Kadri agreed to term and were working out salary during his RFA negotiations. Never put too much faith in Ek but he does have some sources across the league.

Elaborate song parody, Wallace. I’ll level with you, bro. I do not know the reference. Haha

      • leafs_wallace93 says:

Allusion to 24/7 that the Leafs play Miley after a win, MSLE is going to sell this extension as a huge win to the fans that are pissed about it. MLSE is totally out of touch with their fanbase.

I’m not happy about the extension, I’m ok with and if I’m the closest to a Dion fan that’s saying something about MLSE f’ing their customers, you can tell Rogers and Bell own them.

      • leafs_wallace93 says:

Also Tim Leiweke is a tool IMO, he wants into town starts to run his mouth before even knowing the culture of Toronto. Like when he didn’t get the reference to planning the parade route last off season. Or ripping the Raptors a new one. It’s pretty sad when the guy running the whole show knows less about the Leafs then Lafleur.
