Leafs Jump Into the Rivers?
Talk640 Toronto radio personality Bill Watters of Leafs Lunch is reporting that the Toronto Maple Leafs in a minor move have acquired defenseman Jamie Rivers from the Detroit Red Wings for future considerations.
Rivers comes to the Leafs a day after defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo suffered a concussion attempting to hit Chris Kelly of the Ottawa Senators and fell head first into the boards. It is expected that Colaiacovo will be out atleast a week, with Bryan McCabe already out indefinitely and Karel Pilar done for the season with a heart condition, Rivers a journeyman of the NHL, will be asked to fill in on an interim basis.
Is this the jump off to more deals for the Leafs? Only time will tell.
