Mikael Telqvist!!!

Wow what a performance he put in net last night, is it possible for him to be our starter and for Rayroft to be back up?They were talking to the leafs goalie coach and he said that telqvist save one Fischer was the best he has ever seen, i was listening to the game on the radio and even the anouncer’s were flabergasted by his performence. If he keeps this up i hope that he is our starting goalie!

What about Aubin, remember this is only preseason, The real Sens lineup wasnt playing, no heatley says it all, like the only regular was Alfredson with no supporting cast.

Raycroft played a team that had its regular players.

When you think about Tellqvist played an AHL game

  2. mojo19 says:

We’ve seen Tellqvist play like that before, his problem is his inconsistant play. Raycroft and Aubin will be our goalies.

  3. 24_cups_and_counting says:

Go ahead, make him your starter. The First HNIC of the season, the habs will remind you of why he shouldn’t be your starter.

  4. 92-93 says:

neither were the leafs – they were missing their top 7 scorers from last year.

    Telly was briliant.

  5. leaflova says:

you think there so good but there not, everyone is gonna figure out huet, the leafs already did

  6. rollinfatty says:

Buffalo did not have their line up either. They were missing briere, drury, afinigenov. So what are you talking about?

  7. rollinfatty says:

He was very good but as someone said he is inconsistant. I thought he was going to take over last year and save the leafs when he played a fewa games near the beginning of the season but look what happened to the leafs. Raycroft was good and he’ll be good on most nights. He’ll be our starter. Peca was the real story. I can’t remember the last time I saw a leaf hit someone.

  8. leaflova says:

ya peca did do good and so did o’neil

  9. BLUE_AND_WHITE says:

i’d be surprized if one of Raycroft, Aubin, and Tellqvisyt can’t become a good starter. also note that the habs defence is the exat same as last years, so teams have th habs figured out.

  10. BLUE_AND_WHITE says:

Tellqvist always does well at the beginning of the season, then fades near the end.

  11. 92-93 says:

too many leaf fans have written off telqvist and have completely misread his performance last year.

he is going to prove some people wrong this year – either for the leafs or on another team.

Am I the only one who is getting the feeling that Aubin/Telly may be a better combo than Raycrof/Aubin or Raycroft/Telly. I know we have to start Raycroft, but if he chokes early we should show him no patience.

  13. the_word says:

Telquist is good, but is he good enough to steal a game or keep the Leafs close in a game they shouldn’t be in? Aubin at least shows a spark of being that good. Who would you rather keep Telqvist or Aubin.

  14. 92-93 says:

actually i can point out 2 games last year that he stole – home games against Carolina and TB in March last year immediately come to mind.

i just saw a game here in ottawa that he totally stole, both teams had half their line-ups but he was robbing guys like Alfie and Fisher and Pressing.

i agree about Aubin though, its a tough decision. Aubin has more experience and is only 2 years older than Telly. Right now I would pick Aubin to back-up Raycroft but I would totally avoid trading Tellqvist, whereas if Telly was chosen to be the back-up, i would have no problems trading Aubin.

its a nice dilemma to have. and considering all the questions surrounding Raycroft, perhaps a very necessary one as well.

Well put, emphasizes the fact that the Leafs gave away Rask for a guy who may be a complete bust which is preplexing to say the least.

  16. 92-93 says:

i think Pogge will be good, but I was liking Rask’s play much more than Pogge’s.

Unless Raycroft plays 3-5 years with the Leafs and is close to Joseph calibre, I dont see this trade working out in the long run for the leafs. I think Rask will eventually be a solid goalie in the NHL.

    but we’ll see.

actualy i find he is doing pretty good(raycroft)
