The Toronto Sun is providing a number of speculation tid bits for your reading pleasure this morning including news on Mats Sundin.
On the Mata Sundin front the Toronto Sun is speculating that Mats Sundin may be wanting to go down with the ship in Toronto. It is widely speculated that if Sundin were to go to another team that he would want to go back to Toronto during the offseason as a free agent. Complicating matters s that most teams would be giving up a prospect or two and draft picks in order to land the big Swede and those teams are not that willing to part with assets unless Sundin signs a contract extension that would see Sundin play at least one complete season with the new team. HTR does not believe that it will come down to a problem such as this with Sundin however the Leaf management needs to understand that while Sundin is a great player they have a choice to make, move him and get prospects for “free” or remain with him and gain nothing. To add more to this argument, if the leafs do move Sundin it is quite possible that team play will go down hill putting them in a better position to get a higher draft pick.
