Kessel still undecided?Decision tough to figure??

According to Boston Herald:With conflicting reports bouncing around on whether Bruins top draft pick Phil Kessel wants to return to the University of Minnesota for his sophomore year or turn pro now, “family adviser” Wade Arnott, said Friday the issue simply has not yet been decided.

They are still preliminary, but there are ongoing discussions with the Bruins,” Arnott said.

Kessel would like to sign immediately if the conditions are right, according to Arnott, meaning both the salary and bonuses – and the opportunity to get quality playing time in the NHL.

As for money, entry-level salary (including signing bonus) is limited to $850,000. Performance bonuses would be added to that to establish Kessel’s salary cap number. Those bonuses could total a maximum of some $2.85 million.

over paid players

In the summer many players got new contracts. 2 in paticular caught my eye and 2 other players who are still UFAS are washed up and what ever they get will be getting overpayed.

1.martin havlat 18GP 9G 7A 16P +/- 6 he received 18 million over 3 years. Martin Havlat did not have a break out year,he had an injury filled year. I thought he would get around 3 million a year. I know he said he wanted to become unrestricted next year and i guess the only way he wouldnt become unrestricted is if he got 6 million a year. Martin Havlat is hands down the most over payed player in the league, not even mike milbury would have gave him that. I dont know what chicogo was thinking, this is not jarmir jagr. Martin Havlat is a 30 goal scorer if hes healthy.

2.pavel kubina 78GP 5G 33A 38P +/- -12 he received 25 million over 5 years. He made 3.5 million the year before. I thought he may get a small raise for about 4 million a year but i guess with all the teams having alot of money the leafs were forced to make a high bid.

The next 2 players havent signed yet but if they do sign for even 1 dollar they will be overpayed.

3.Jason Allion averaged a point a game last year. But he is as slow as a turtle and he causes just as many goals against as he gets points.

4.Ed belfour is old, slow and washed up. He gave up on the leafs at the end of the year. So they put in their AHL goalie Aubin and he did a much better job than Belfour.
