Part 3: forwards: surprises, good, and bad.

Which forwards have been good, and bad surprises.

3. Ray Whitney: Last year, he had 55 points, and this year he has 51 already. He’s 16th in NHL scoring, and on pace for close to 100 points. The most he has ever got is 76. Although I’m surprised this year, and wouldn’t have been surprised last year, if Whitney had this kind of season.

2. Daymond Langkow: He’s never been great. He was drafted 5th overall so he should be playing as good as he has. I might have expected it 5 years ago, but not now for sure. Plus he’s been playing better without Iginla.

1. Chris Kunitz: He was never drafted, he played in the minors the year before the lockout, and he only played 21 games in the NHL, and he was already 25, so it didn’t look good for him, but he has 38 points in 47 games, pretty good.

3. Colby Armstrong: I was expecting allot. Maybe 80 points. 40 points in 47 games, that’s pretty good. Even though he was playing with Crosby, he’s been playing with Crosby for allot of this season, and he only has 18 points in 44 games. Big disappointment.

2. Nikolai Zherdev: He’s 219th in NHL points, and I expected him to be top 15. He only has 20 points this year, and is one of many players to miss training camp, and have a horrible season.

1. Joffrey Lupul: I expected this year’s league scoring to be like this: Crosby, Ovechkin, Heatley, Lupul, but he has been a bust this year.Expect him to have a comeback year next year, like St Louis this year.
